Frequently Asked Questions About Payment

How do you structure your fees?

Most of our work is handled on a flat-fee basis, which means you’ll know the full cost of your case upfront—no surprises or hidden charges. In some situations, especially for ongoing or complex matters, we may bill by the hour.

What is a flat fee?

A flat fee is a set amount agreed upon before representation begins. This fee covers all legal work for your matter as outlined in the agreement, regardless of how much time or effort is required.

When is payment due?

For flat-fee cases, payment is due upfront before work begins. This allows us to dedicate resources to your case immediately. For hourly matters, we require an initial retainer, with billing occurring monthly as work is performed.

Do you offer payment plans?

Depending on the type of case, we may offer limited payment plan options. These are evaluated on a case-by-case basis. Please discuss this with us during your consultation.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept most major forms of payment, including:

  • Credit/debit cards

  • Checks

  • Secure online payments

Will I receive a written agreement?

Yes. Before beginning representation, you will receive a written engagement agreement that clearly explains the fee structure, what services are included, and your financial obligations.

What happens if my case takes longer than expected?

If you have a flat-fee agreement, the cost will not change regardless of the time required. If you are billed hourly, you will receive monthly statements detailing the work completed and the balance of your retainer.
